Topics we cover:

DIY Composting
Suitable for regular household wastes such as newspaper, cardboard, fruit peels and vegetable scraps.

Vermicomposting
Using composting worms to make high-quality fertilizer for horticulture, flowering and fruiting plants.

Bokashi Composting
Airtight method with no risk of smells and flies. Suitable for food waste and small enclosed spaces.

Black Soldier Fly
Using BSF larvae to rapidly reduce large amounts of food waste. They are excellent feed for animals too!
Workshop FAQ
Who may book your workshop?
We accept bookings from:
- Schools / Educational Institutions
- Corporates
- Communities (library talks, gardening groups, community centres, private and public housing estates etc)
- Cafes, restaurants
We currently do not provide workshops for individuals.
What is the minimum age for your workshop?
We conduct workshops for ages 5 and up.
Our 1-hour workshops are engaging, easy to learn from, and customisable to any audience. They are conducted by our in-house MOE-accredited instructor.
What can participants expect from your workshop?
Our 1-hour workshops consist of:
- Learning segment (using colourful and engaging presentation slides from the instructor’s laptop)
- Live composting demonstration
- Quiz and activities with prizes
Our workshops are conducted in English.
What do I need to provide on the day of the workshop?
On the day of the workshop, you are kindly required to provide:
- Projector with a HDMI input
- Projector screen
- Sound speakers
- Table (please provide table dimensions)
For a large audience, we also require you to provide:
- 1 wireless headset microphone (for demonstration)
- 1 wireless handheld microphone (for quiz)
- Stage or platform
We will arrive 1 hour before the workshop to set up materials, and test the presentation slides and video from the instructor’s laptop.
Will there be hands-on activities?
Participants can look forward to simple composting activities and quizzes throughout various points of the workshop. They will also win prizes such as seeds for planting, stationery, composting paraphernalia etc.
Does your workshop provide materials to compost, such as a compost bin?
Our instructor will be bringing her own compost bin and materials to demonstrate setting up a compost bin from scratch. These materials are the instructor’s own and are meant for demonstration purposes only.

How many participants do you recommend per workshop?
There is no cap on the number of participants per workshop. However, we recommend no more than 30 participants for the best learning experience.
What has been your usual audience size?
Our audience size has ranged from 20 to 300+ people.
What are your workshop rates?
It is a fixed one-time fee per workshop. Kindly contact us for our rate.
Please note that we require to receive 50% non-refundable deposit in order to confirm your booking.
Clients may lose their preferred date / time slot to other clients if they fail to make the non-refundable deposit in a timely manner.
We do not accept any change in workshop topic, date, and timing after booking has been confirmed.
Remainder payment to be made in cash or PayNow immediately after the workshop.
We will issue an invoice and receipt for each payment.
What are the modes of payment?
We accept the following modes of payment:

Please note that we do not accept payment by credit card at the moment.
How do I secure my preferred date and time slot?
Your booking slot will only be secured after we receive your 50% non-refundable deposit.
To book a workshop, please follow the 3 steps below:
- Fill in and submit our online booking form
- Await our reply
- Make 50% non-refundable deposit within 48 hours of our reply
Please note that clients may lose their preferred date / time slot to other clients if they fail to make the deposit in a timely manner.
We do not accept any change in workshop topic, date, and timing after booking has been confirmed.
What are the terms and conditions for engaging your workshop?
Please note that video and audio recordings are not allowed during the workshop. CIS reserves all rights to any video and audio recordings made during the workshop.
CIS reserves the right to photograph and record videos of the workshop for training, review, and documentation purposes. CIS may use the photographs and videos for publicity purposes.
Booking will only be confirmed after CIS receives the 50% non-refundable deposit.
