Two (out of four) requirements for composting are air and warmth. These two elements help thrive the beneficial microorganisms in your compost pile, and keep them effective in breaking down wastes.
And did you know that heat is naturally generated during composting? It’s important to retain this heat and not let it dissipate.
As such, we recommend mixing or turning your compost pile only once every few weeks. This way, you can keep your pile aerated while maintaining the necessary warmth.
Turning or mixing your pile too often will dissipate heat from it—something that we want to avoid.

Simple!
